About Your Librarian
Mrs. Brooks is a veteran teacher-librarian, who has been with MNPS since 2006, and worked at both Goodlettsville and Apollo Middle Schools. She started her career as a 5th grade math and science teacher before switching paths to join the ranks of the many incredible MNPS librarians in 2011. Mrs. Brooks believes that middle school is the BEST because of the awesome curriculum and amazing projects she gets to help students with. In addition, while many people say middle schoolers are a challenge, Mrs. Brooks absolutely LOVES working with this age group and seeing students grow into their personalities and have awesome and hilarious conversations—especially about books. At Apollo, Mrs. Brooks co-facilitates the AMP Morning News, co-chairs a Project LIT chapter, and is a founding member of the MNPS Battle of the Books. She has lived in Nashville since 1997 and earned a University Scholar BS degree in Middle Childhood Education from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. She also earned her Graduate degree in Information and Library Sciences at Trevecca Nazarene University. When she is not teaching, Mrs. Brooks enjoys reading, sewing, zumba, traveling, and spending time with friends, family, and her husband, Noah!
